Material Selection

Pick the right plastic before the mold is built. Our material selection services help you match resin to part, so the finished product holds up the way it needs to.

The Right Material makes the difference

There are tens of thousands of plastic grades on the market, and each one behaves differently in the mold and in the field. The wrong resin causes warping, cracking, color drift, or a part that fails the first time it gets dropped. The right resin runs cleanly and performs the way your customers expect.

We help you pick the right plastic based on how the part will be used, where it will live, and what it has to do. That includes mechanical loads, temperature range, chemical exposure, regulatory needs, and cost targets. The choice gets locked in before tooling is built, since different resins shrink at different rates and change the mold dimensions.

Our team works with commodity resins, engineering plastics, and specialty grades. That includes ABS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, acetal, TPE, TPU, PEEK, and glass- or fiber-filled blends. We pull from years of supplier relationships to source the right material at the right price.

Our Selection Process

We start with how the part will be used. Loads, temperatures, chemicals, UV exposure, and regulatory requirements all shape the material list before any resin is named.

Tensile strength, impact resistance, stiffness, creep, and heat deflection are checked against your part's working conditions. The shortlist gets narrowed to grades that fit the job.

Medical, food contact, UL flammability, FDA, and RoHS needs are factored in early. Color, surface finish, and texture are also part of the decision when the part has to look right.

We balance performance against cost per pound, lead time, and supply stability. A great resin that ships in 16 weeks is not always the right answer for a project that needs parts now.

Once a resin is selected, we run a sample on tooling that matches your final mold class. That confirms how the material flows, fills, and finishes before production tooling is cut.
